Jason Harris’ career in education spans 30 years. He came to Atlanta ISD in 2020 as the assistant superintendent, and in February 2022, he took over the role as superintendent. 

Before coming to Atlanta ISD, he spent 13 years in Carthage where he served as the high school principal, as well as other administrative positions. Prior to that, he was the assistant principal at Texas High School in Texarkana ISD.

He began his career in Orange, Texas, as a teacher and coach. He coached football, baseball and golf while teaching at various schools in the Texarkana and Orange, Texas, areas. 

Harris received a Master of Education degree from Texas A&M University - Texarkana and a Bachelor of Science degree from Ouachita Baptist University.

He is a Cass County native. He and his wife, Brianne, have three children.
