Our Mission |
The mission of the Atlanta ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is to ensure that all children in the AISD, grades PK-12, will have healthy bodies and minds through health education, healthy practices, and modeling of good health behaviors. |

Our Goal |
The goal of the School Health Advisory Council is to make recommendations to Atlanta ISD decision-makers regarding:
• Safety and Health of the School Environment • Policies and Procedures that impact student health • Students’ Needs Related to Health Knowledge and Skill |

Community Volunteers Needed |
A School Health Advisory Council is an advisory group of individuals who represent segments of the community, and acts collectively to provide advice to the school system on aspects of the school health program. The Advisory Council meets up to four times a year. Terms for serving on the Council run 2 or 3 years. The expertise you would bring to this council would be extremely valuable to the students in Atlanta ISD. Please consider joining our School Health Advisory Council by submitting the completed volunteer form. |
